BackWPup 3.5 is now available with restore functionality!

The new version BackWPup 3.5 has been released and the main novelty regards the introduction in the PRO version of the long-awaited restore functionality: in this way, if something is wrong on your site, you can restore the system more quickly and automatically from BackWPup plugin, using a previously created backup archive.

Restore a backup archive

This new feature requires only to select the previously created backup package and press a button: as a result, the restore process will bring the system back to its previous state, restoring the files and the database in a totally automatic way.

Restore from destination

The procedure can also be initiated by the destinations, in fact, backups previously created and saved on Google Drive, Amazon S3, Dropbox, FTP server, or on a folder in the server can be directly restored without the need for additional steps. So relax, BackWPup will take care of everything.

Restore with a dedicated Standalone App

What if the system was compromised and it was not possible to use BackWPup for recovery? No problem, the new version includes a standalone app that allows independently to restore the system from backups created with BackWPup. I really need a standalone app? Changelog: the whole truth

Restoring is the main functionality, but furthermore there is still something else to add. Here is the complete list of changes in version 3.5 and version 3.5.1 that include fixes for the Free version of the plugin too:

  • Fixed:
    • Call to a member function close() on null
    • Cannot use object of type WP_Error as array
    • Can’t use function return value in write context
    • Compatibility with PHP 5.3
    • Decreased size of plugin by purging unneeded files

  • Fixed: stylesheet was being included on frontend

First of all, the most important is the Encryption of the archives because it lets you keep safe your personal data saved in the backup archives, and also let only the authorized owner to access that data.
