Updating Your Payment Information: Switching from Unzer to Stripe

Introduction

We’re reaching out regarding your upcoming BackWPup license renewal.

As previously communicated via email, we’re currently experiencing an issue with our previous payment provider, Unzer, which prevents us from processing subscription renewals. To ensure uninterrupted service, we are transitioning to Stripe for all future payments.

To continue your Pro access without interruption, we kindly ask you to re-enter your credit card information. Once your payment details are successfully updated, we’ll add a complimentary one-month extension to your subscription as a thank you.


What You’ll Need

  • Access to your BackWPup account
  • A valid credit or debit card
  • Deadline: Please update your payment method by May 30th, 2025

Note: If payment details are not updated by your next renewal date, your subscription may not renew automatically and Pro features may be interrupted.


Step-by-Step Guide: Updating Your Payment Method

1. Log In to Your Account

2. Access the Payment methods Section

  • Once logged in, navigate to Payment methods in the left-hand menu.

3. Add Your Payment Information

  • Click on the “Add payment method” button.
  • Enter your updated credit or debit card details.
  • Your new payment information will be securely added to Stripe in our backend.
  • Make sure to tick the checkbox labeled:
    • “Update the payment method for all of my current subscriptions”
  • Click Save to confirm the new payment method.

4. Verify and Confirm Changes

  • After saving, your new payment method will be securely stored and used for your upcoming renewal.
  • You can double-check your updated method under Payment Methods.
  • If any confirmation email is sent, check your inbox to verify the update.
