What do I need to use Google Drive for Backups?

Google Drive is the cloud storage service by Google. BackWPup Pro offers you to store your WordPress Backups to Google Drive. To use Google Drive for backups you need a free Google account and our plugin BackWPup Pro.

Register for a Google account to use Google Drive for backups

With a Google account you get access to various Google services, including Google Drive with 15 GB free space at the moment.

If you don’t have a Google account yet, follow this steps:

  1. Go to https://accounts.google.com/signup?hl=en and fill in the registration form.

  2. Click on Next step and agree to the privacy policy and the terms of service.
  3. You possibly have to verify your email address afterwards.
  4. Now your Google account is created, you can find Google Drive by going to google.com. Click on the Google Apps menu item at the upper right corner and a new menu with various Google services opens. We have marked the Google Drive symbol in the screenshot below.
